Dentist360

Privacy policy

Last updated 18 July 2026

This policy explains what personal information Dentist360 collects, why we collect it, how we handle it, and what you can do about it. We have written it in plain English rather than legal language, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.

Who we are

Dentist360 operates dentist360.com.au, an independent online directory and information service for dental practices in Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Dentist360.

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@dentist360.com.au.

What we collect

We collect only what we need. In practice that is limited to the following.

  • Information you give us through the registration form: your email address, and depending on which form you use, your name, your practice name, your suburb or postcode, and whether your practice offers same day appointments.
  • Information you give us by email, including anything you choose to include in your message.
  • Technical information collected automatically when you visit, such as your approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you viewed, the site or search that referred you, and your browser and device type.

What we do not collect

We do not collect health information. We are an information and directory service, not a healthcare provider. We do not ask about your dental history, symptoms, treatment or any other health matter, and we ask that you do not send us that information.

We do not collect payment details, because nothing on this site is paid for.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Why we collect it and what we do with it

We will not use your information for a purpose you would not reasonably expect, and we will not send you marketing unrelated to Dentist360.

  • To notify you when Dentist360 launches in your area, if you asked us to.
  • To contact dental practices about setting up and verifying a free listing.
  • To verify that a practice is genuine before anything about it is published.
  • To respond to your enquiry.
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, ever. We do not provide your details to dental practices as sales leads. This is a deliberate commitment, not a temporary position.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site, and only to the extent they need it to do that job. At the time of writing these are:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website and processes server logs. Data may be processed on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.
  • Our form and email providers, which receive registration submissions so we can act on them.
  • Our analytics provider, which records anonymous, aggregate usage information.
  • Supabase, if and when we enable database storage for registrations.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. By using the site and submitting the form you consent to this disclosure.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy respecting analytics to understand which pages people find useful. This records aggregate information such as page views, referring sites and approximate country or region. It does not identify you personally and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

We do not run advertising cookies or third party tracking pixels. You can block cookies in your browser settings without losing any functionality on this site.

How long we keep it

We keep registration details until Dentist360 launches and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Email correspondence is kept while it is relevant. Analytics data is aggregate and retained on a rolling basis.

If we no longer need your personal information for any purpose set out in this policy, and we are not required by law to keep it, we will delete or de-identify it.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to registration data is restricted to the people who need it. Our providers are established platforms with their own security controls.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Accessing, correcting and deleting your information

You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. Email hello@dentist360.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

We may need to verify your identity before acting, to make sure we are not disclosing your information to someone else.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email hello@dentist360.com.au at any time and we will remove you.

Links to other sites

Our guides and listings link to dental practices and to external organisations such as government health services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@dentist360.com.au and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service develops. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. If we make a change that materially affects how we handle your information, we will make that clear on the site.
